Brazil produces more coffee than any other country in the world. The most distinctive and highly prized beans are "Bourbons" from the port of Santos. The seminal beans were originally from the French Island colony of Bourbon (now called Reunion,) in the Indian Ocean.
This coffee is distinctly Brazilian—as no other trees or seeds have been transplanted from another source for over one hundred years. Bourbon trees are smaller than others, but heavier in foliage and production. This helps them to withstand the severe frosts and droughts of Brazil. Brazilian Bourbon Santos are delightful beans that honor the history and culture of their home soil.
