Meet the Owner:
Jon (Jonny) Tisbert, the newest owner of Brown & Jenkins Coffee Roasters, is a true Cambridge, VT native with deep local roots. Raised right in town, Jonny's family is well-known in the community as the owners of the esteemed Valley Dream Farm. His connection to the area is not just sentimental; it’s a commitment to the Vermont way of life, one that emphasizes quality, community, and hard work.
After graduating from Lamoille Union Highschool, Jonny gained diverse professional experience, working in various kitchens and even at local auto dealerships. However, a desire for a career that better allowed for family time—both at the farm and with his wife, Caroline—guided him toward this new venture.
The acquisition of Brown & Jenkins was a natural extension of his personal and community ties. Jonny has long-standing relationships with the former owners, Sandy Riggen and Rich Williams, as they have been close family friends of the Tisberts for years. This familial connection ensures a smooth transition and a deep respect for the company’s history. As the new steward of this long-established Vermont coffee roaster, Jonny brings a palpable new energy and fresh perspective to the operation. While he is focused on growth and innovation, he is resolutely committed to upholding the core values that Brown & Jenkins was founded upon—quality, small-batch roasting, and a dedication to its customers. Jonny is excited to blend his entrepreneurial spirit with the rich tradition of a local favorite.

BROWN & JENKINS Coffee Roasters has been a family-owned and operated Vermont Coffee Roaster since 1984. Our coffee is hand roasted in small batches and shipped to your door the same day. It is truly the freshest you can buy. You can taste the difference.
Brown & Jenkins has developed a unique expertise for designing original, Single Origin Signature Blend Coffees. The appellation “signature blend” is not a trademark, but when you see the name Brown & Jenkins associated with Vermont Coffee Blends, you can be certain that conscientious research and testing has gone into every formulation. The quality of Brown & Jenkins Signature Blend Coffees must embody and surpass the sum of its components. Our Single Origin Coffee Blends are favorites among long-time customers. Many tell us they will not drink anything else. Brown & Jenkins Coffee Roasters also develops Flavored Coffees that go far beyond the classic vanilla or hazelnut coffee.
Our Single Origin Coffees, Signature Coffee Blends and Flavored Coffees are especially suited to private use for business and individuals alike. Brown & Jenkins Coffee offers fully custom-tailored Private Label Coffee, Frac Pack Coffee and Wholesale Coffee services. Whether you are interested in establishing brand recognition, expressing customer appreciation with an outstanding gift, selling your own private-label coffee or providing memorable coffee samplers at weddings and corporate events, we can design a customized label and provide the right packaging for the occasion. And, of course, even our wholesale and private label coffees are roasted fresh on the same day they are delivered or shipped.
OUR HISTORY
Brown & Jenkins Coffee Roasters was established in 1984 by Ken Brown and Carol Jenkins, a couple from Vermont who shared a passion for freshly roasted coffee and a desire to share their delight with fellow coffee lovers. At that time, mail-order catalogs were the primary sales method. The company entered the digital age with the launch of its website in 1999.
In order to keep the business family-owned and operated, it was acquired by Vermont caterer Sandy Riggen and her husband Rich, who has maintained the traditions and high standards set by Ken Brown and Carol Jenkins for over 30 years.
Brown & Jenkins Coffee Roasters sources only the highest quality Arabica beans from reputable coffee estates. We roast our coffee to order and ship it the same day, ensuring that our customers receive the freshest coffee possible. We take pride in our fresh-roasted guarantee and cherish our expanding network of customers and friends, all while maintaining a small-scale operation to serve you better.
In October 2014, we closed our retail store and refocused our efforts on online sales. At that time, we partnered with the Vermont Maple Outlet, which is conveniently located on RTE 15 between Cambridge and Jeffersonville. They are now the exclusive storefront retailer for Brown & Jenkins Coffee in the Jeffersonville/Cambridge area.
While political climates and logistical challenges can cause fluctuations in global coffee prices, we strive to keep this cherished commodity affordable. When you sip a cup of Brown & Jenkins Coffee, you will understand why our long-time customers regard it as an affordable luxury—consistently great and guaranteed.
